Settlement Construction Rules WIP

These rules apply to all levels:

All buildings must be fully player-built

  • No pre-built structures, houses, warehouses, police stations, or hospitals may be used
  • Don’t build too close to pre-existing structures.

Every structure must be constructed from scratch

  • Walls, floors, roofs, doors, and windows are all player placed

All colony buildings are considered an aesthetic build

  • Buildings represent function through layout, room designation and furnishing

Aesthetic style is not judged

  • Visual theme (modern, rustic, industrial, etc.) does not matter
  • Coherent, intentional design is rewarded (clear purpose, logical layout)

Buildings must be clearly labeled or visually clear

  • A player should understand a building’s purpose by its layout alone
  • Each higher level includes all structures from previous levels”

Level 1 

Survivor Camp

REQ’s

  • Shared sleeping structure
  • Basic kitchen structure
  • Simple utility space (fireplace or stove)

Level 2 

Organized Shelter

REQ’s

  • Dormitory building
  • Infirmary building
  • Designated food preparation building
  • Separate storage buildings (food/tools)
  • Basic workshop structure
  • Working water collection”

Level 3

Settlement

REQ’s

  • Grouped sleeping quarters
  • Expanded infirmary with recovery area (Treatment room and ward with at least 2 beds)
  • Workshop building (carpentry & repair/mechanic)
  • Outdoor or indoor crop-growing structures
  • Food storage area
  • Power supplying all structures
  • All main buildings with running water/working plumbing

Level 4

Structured Compound

REQ’s

  • Semi-private living quarter buildings 

[max 4 survivors / structure, all must have private rooms]

  • Medical clinic building
  • Expanded workshop complex
  • Dedicated farming structures
  • Vehicle parking structure
  • Water distribution structures

Level 5

Established Colony

REQ’s

  • Private living quarters for all survivors (max 2 survivors per building)
  • Medical center building

 [ designated entrances and waiting area, ward with at least 4 beds, treatment room, and infirmary/storage room ]

  • Fully equipped workshop building
  • Mechanic shop building
  • Large-scale crop growing structures
  • Food processing and storage building
  • Power system supplying all major buildings
  • Defensive wall all around the compound (square or rectangle)
